Since Johnny Gimble and his music have been such a big influence in my fiddling, I think it’s appropriate for me to post a brief note about his passing here.
Johnny’s fiddling and the songs he wrote will have a place in fiddling lore for a very long time. His creative improvising shaped the sound of Texas Swing music. And, you could see in his smile what a gentle and kind-hearted man he was.
Johnny will be missed, and I’m so thankful that we are still left with his music.
