Swing Fiddling 101 is the first workshop of the 2014 Talent Forge Hangout Workshops series. In this workshop we discuss basic swing improvisation and dissect the essential elements of the style – additionally, some advanced Swing techniques are covered.
The teaching is based around learning to solo in a swing style on the fiddle tune “Red Wing”, and there will be a transcription of a solo over “Red Wing” that will be available as a handout to the group.
In addition to the solo, there is a notated handout with of chords, arpeggios, scales, and licks to supplement the lecture. During the Q and A section of the workshop, specific questions about swing music are addressed, and there is some discussion of improvisation as relates to swing fiddling and fiddling in general.

* There are some issues with the audio and video at times in the recording. It is generally pretty good, but this was our first live workshop. The content is awesome, but since there are some technical issues, we have marked it down to half price.
