About All About the Blues:
For the creative violinist, blues is an essential element of your playing, whether in the context of country, bluegrass, rock, or jazz, let alone as a genre in itself. In this lesson, Chris Haigh will introduce you to the 12-bar blues as a structure and look at some of the many variations this genre can take. We will examine the concept of blues scales and examine some of their uses and limitations. You will learn some string-specific techniques from some of the pioneers of blues violin along with a few classic blues standards.
